Program OVerview
The Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) authorized the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) to implement the Discrimination Financial Assistance Program (DFAP or “the Program”) in order to provide financial assistance to farmers, ranchers and forest landowners who experienced discrimination in USDA’s farm lending prior to January 1, 2021.
You are eligible if
(1) you applied for a loan through a USDA Farm Service Agency and were denied due to discrimination on the basis of
Race, color, or national origin/ethnicity (including status as a member of an Indian Tribe)
Sex, sexual orientation, or gender identity
Religion
Age
Marital status
Disability
Reprisal/retaliation for prior civil rights activity;
(2) this discrimination occurred in the form of
Delay in processing loan or loan servicing application.
Denial of a loan or loan servicing.
Prevention from applying for a loan or loan servicing.
Adverse loan terms.
Unduly onerous supervision of loan requirements;
and (3) you can provide supporting documents.
