The University of Georgia Southeast Georgia Research and Education Center (SREC) in Midville, Georgia, will host its annual field day on Wednesday, Aug. 14. Registration will begin at 9 a.m. and tours of the 719-acre center are set to begin at 9:30 a.m. A free lunch will be available at 12:30 p.m. The field day will feature presentations and research findings from UGA College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences researchers with an emphasis on cotton, corn, peanuts and soybeans.
Fort Valley State University will host a free lespedeza sericea field day. Lespedeza is a drought-tolerant, nitrogen-fixing crop proven to control worms in livestock. AGAware® equips young, beginning, and small with the skills they need to build a business plan, improve their existing plan, or analyze their cash flows to make their current operation more profitable. These one-day, seven-hour workshops address a variety of topics pertinent to up-and-coming farmers, including budget preparation, personal finance, risk management, succession planning, and more.
Team Agriculture Georgia is excited to announce its first workshop of 2019.
With support from the USDA Risk Management Agency, TAG will host a free full-day workshop for new, beginning, and limited-resource farmers at the UGA Tifton Campus Conference Center on May 2, 2019.
Farmers of all experience levels and product types are welcome. There is no cost to attend, and lunch and light refreshments will be provided. Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate dietary restrictions, and we cannot offer a discounted hotel rate.
